Stage 1 - Foundation eLearning

Are you ready to turn your love for dogs into a rewarding career? Look no further! Our comprehensive dog grooming eLearning, called your ‘Foundation Knowledge, ’ checks what you know, corrects any misunderstandings and introduces you to the new facts and knowledge you will need when you qualify as a professional dog groomer.

This stage of our iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management accounts for around 1/6th of your total qualification time. We aim to get students to complete this before their 1st day of practical education or, at the latest, their last day at the Academy.

Stage 2 - Practical Learning

Now that you have the basic knowledge, you will spend 20 days with our expert grooming teachers onsite at our Hertfordshire Academy. Grooming a range of dogs, practising your craft, and taking part in workshops will help you prepare to independently groom dogs and operate a dog grooming business if you wish.

Practical Face-to-Face Learning: You’ll attend sessions at our top-tier Dog Grooming Academy in Hertfordshire. These hands-on experiences are essential for building confidence and competence.
Grooming Dogs: Over 20 days, you’ll groom 29 dogs. This extensive practice allows you to work with different coat types, temperaments, and breeds.
Workshops: Participate in 6 workshops where you’ll dive deeper into specific grooming techniques, tools, and industry best practices.
Pet First Aid Qualification: Gain a recognised qualification in pet first aid. Knowing how to handle emergencies is crucial for any groomer.
Breed Standard Demonstrations: Observe four breed standard demonstrations to to understand the specific grooming requirements for different breeds.

Stage 3 - Applying Your Real-World Skills

At Stage 3, you’ll immerse yourself in real-world scenarios, applying your grooming expertise and knowledge. Whether your passion lies in business, styling, or health, this phase is about hands-on experience and growth.
